Rainbow Clouds

Who saw the Rainbow clouds on Tuesday?

Well I did, at 7:30 I was dragged outside by my dad saying "Aisling you have to see the rainbow clouds". I didn't believe him and then I saw them and lets just say that they truly woke me up from the Tuesday morning slumps, even tho I had the worst cold known to mankind .
pastel rainbow clouds

Sadly I learnt the these clouds where not made by unicorns that live in the sky but it was to do with ice. The clouds colour comes from hexagonal shaped ice crystals refracting the sun's rays to give the rainbow effect. The conditions for these clouds to form is quite rare, the sun has the be hitting the ice at 58 degrees or grater and the sky has to be clear with cirrus clouds. They are known as  nacreous clouds and usually occur during the winter season at high latitudes like Alaska, Northern Canada, Iceland, and Scandinavia.

In school mini company final

Well today in school we had our mini company final to see who from our school would be going to the county final in March. After lunch we went to the library to set up out stalls, we got tables and put out our products and put up posters behind us.  We were all pretty nervous but excited at the same time. The judges started by going around to each group asking questions about our product and the experiences we had during the process of mini company. Next all the groups had to go stand in front of everybody and give a 3 minute presentation on our company.
When it was our turn we went up all confident but we were a bit nervous, sadly we didn't finish with in the 3 minutes. But it was still an amazing experience, the groups that got threw were Bía Bags and Paper Garden, good luck girls i know that you will do amazing in the county final.

Review on A Court of Thorns and Roses

I recently read "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by "Sarah J Maas" as my cousin had been pestering me to read it saying "it was the best book I've every read" and I couldn't ignore that. My cousin is a very avid reader so to her that from her is a real reason to read a book, because she does not say that about every book. So the following Saturday I went out of my way to get to a book store and get the book.

A Court of Thorns and Roses is an amazing book. It is set in a mysterious realm of faeries and mortals, we are thrown head first into Feyre’s world called Prythian. She is a 19 year old human huntress how fights not only for her own survival but the survival of her two sisters and father in the cold, harsh lands in which she lives. But when she kills a wolf, her life is permanently altered . As it happens, Feyre has not  killed a wolf, but a Faerie, and she must  pay the ultimate price by leaving her family to enter the Fae lands in the north and live there for the rest of her life with her captor, Tamlin.

The books starts off slow but as you continue the suspense starts to build and by the 6th chapter I was hooked. I could not put it down, the way that Maas writes led me to become a recluse for a few hours a day. I raced through the book and was so upset when it ended, but then I learnt that a sequel "A Court of Mist and Fury" would be coming out in early 2016, so my mind was put at ease.

Each of the characters are so different but way Maas writes allows you to get into the several layers that each character has. Feyre, a strong, independent girl who knows her own mind and would do anything for her family even if it meant that she would have to go without. She is sometimes  unappreciated by her father and sister, but yet she continues to work her hands to the bone in order to provide for them and to ensure that they are safe. Next we have  Tamlin, who is the male protagonist in this story. We see many sides of him throughout the course of the novel we see the tender and loving side of his personality but also confident and strong. He's like an onion with many many layers. Finally the sassiest character in the book Lucien he is Tamlin's second but he lightens the mood of the novel with his humour.

This book is amazing and I would give it 5 stars, the characters and the story is beautiful described and told. I highly recommend this book to anybody who like suspense full romance.

Mini company

As part of Ty we have to set up a mini company. In my company there is Jessica, Clarissa, Cynthia and Susan. We set up the company Tips Tricks And Makeup Bits which sells hand designed mirrors and brushs. As part of mini company we went to the Westgrove Hotel in Clane where we had a workshop on mini company. We were joined by several schools in the locality and the talk was given by Serena from Kildare SEA. She spoke about how to come up with ideas and how to market them. We had to think of as many ways to use a paper clip and to design our own pen which we had to pitch to everyone there. The talk lasted form the majority of the day and was very helpfull. As part of the process we did surveys to see if people would buy our product and how much they would pay for it, we found out that people loved our idea so we set off to produce them.

Our first chance to sell them was at a craft fair in the Mill the first day was quite productive but the real rush was on the second day of the fair where we nearly sold out. The following week we went to another craft fair with "Too Candle Too Handle".

We sell
Mirrors for €4.50
Brushs for 2.50
Positivity packages for €6.00

Kilkenny trip

For are art trip we went to Kilkenny. We arrived to school we got straight on the bus and set off on the 2 hour bus ride to Kilkenny. When we got there we walked to the cinema where we had a private screening of "The Song Of The Sea". The cinema was like a sauna so we asked if the could turn on the air conditioning. The film was amazing. Then we walked over to Kilkenny castle while on the way over I walked into a lamp post Jessica and co laughed with me little did i know that this would become a common occurrence throught the year . It was in the grounds of Kilkenny castle where we had some free time to have lunch and explore the castle grounds. Then we went into the art exhibition that was based on "The Song Of The Sea" and one of the animators from cartoon saloon was there to tell us about the animation process. After this we got back on the bus and headed back to the school.

Retreat and Carlingford !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Wednesday the 16th of September we went on retreat to the Celbridge Manor Hotel. The day started by one of the men playing a joke on us, each of us fell for it hook line and sinker. After that we played a game where we were given a character and when that character was called you had to spin. Then we played fruit bowl and if you cheated you were put on trial and made to do one of the following sing, dance or tell a funny joke. We took a break for lunch and then we did we had a debate and then we had meditation.

The next day we sat off to Carlingford, we arrived to school very excited all dressed in our tracksuits and ready to face what ever Carlingford had to throw at us. We got on the bus and off we went, the trip was spent singing songs and talking about what was to come as well as the ocasional selfie. The bus ride was a long one and everyone was relieved when we arrived. No sooner were we off the bus then we were trown straight into the activities.

The first thing we did was canoing, everyone got changed into wetsuits and got life jackets and helmets. We all got into groups of 10 and we set off into the middle of the bay. Once we got there we climbed onto a pontune and were told that we could jump into the cold Irish sea. Next thing we knew one of the instructors pushed one of the girls into the sea. We all helped her out of the water only to discover that she had lost one of her shoes on the sea. Now her shoe is at the bottem of the sea and is a home for a crab. Then the instrutor aplogised to "DOLERES". Next we all jumped into the freezing Irish Sea and went by boat to the water trampoline, the trampoline was so fun but was really hard to stand on. When we got back to dry land we got changed and headed off to lunch.

After lunch we went to the laser lane and got ready to do laser tag. We were split into two teams and put on army jumpsuit. We climbed up this really big hill and when you thought that you were at the top you had a lot further to go. When we finally got to the top we found out that there was another school there so we joined their game. We found out that they were from Longford and that we are not cut out to be in the army. Laser tag involved us power walking up and down a hill in the rain we also played capture the flag. By the time we got down the huge hill we were a tad late for dinner.

                                                        After laser tag

After dinner we were shown our rooms before we set off for night line this involved us walking back up the hill. Night line was held at the same place as laser tag so while  one of the instructors set it up we were told the spaghetti story and let's just say that it is 10 minutes of my life which I will never ever get back. Night line was kinda scary because  the instructors kept throwing leaves at us and playin scary music but the most scary thing was when someone in front screamed it was like the scream went along the line. When we finished we found out that there was another way down the mountain which was a lot quicker.

When we got back we were aloud to leave and get food from the chipper after eating we went up to bed. The night was spent
playing games and telling story's. We were woken at around 7:00 to the bear necessities from the jungle book we striped our beds them went for breakfast.

After breakfast we went to do the Carlingford challenges  which were like mini games to create teamwork. The games involved building bridges and communication breakdown then we got to go in the zip line. We came back and got lunch then after debriefing we got on the bus and went back to the school  most people had a nap on the bus as well as the sing song.

Carlingford was amassing and I would love to go again.
